“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”
– Lawrence Pearsall Jacks –
Driven, passionate professionals are often consumed by their work. As the quote describes, they can hardly distinguish between work and play. If this describes you, then you likely lead a busy lifestyle, with little time to appropriately manage the full spectrum of your personal finances. That’s where the ongoing Financial Fitness program comes in.
Its purpose is to help individuals live financially fit lifestyles by providing an ongoing process of developing and modifying their life goals and determining whether and how they can meet those goals. Carrying out this purpose helps us achieve our mission of building meaningful relationships with our clients and helping them live their best lives.

Your Personal Trainer
I help driven, passionate professionals achieve & maintain financially fit and balanced lifestyles. My name is Chris Brown, and I’m a Certified Financial Planner™. My goal is to help you leverage your human capital and properly manage your finances to balance your lifestyle and allow you to enjoy your life today, and in the future.
I’ve always felt you should have a great sense of pride and purpose in anything you do. Consequently, that feeling brought me to the United States Military Academy at West Point to start my education. My short time there, surrounded by some of the most driven, passionate people I’d ever met, instilled a great deal of purpose in me. As a result, I knew I wanted to help these kinds of people live their best life, but how? That purpose pulled me into financial planning.
The next few years I learned the hard way about the value of balancing your financial life so you can accomplish your long-term goals and still enjoy your life today. Together, my wife, Amy, and I financed and worked to pay for our education, experiencing negative cash flow for eight years. However, through proper management of our finances and leveraging our human capital, we were still able to enjoy those years. Our drive and passion for the work we were doing and would be doing in the future is what helped us succeed through that time. As a result, we have a balanced lifestyle the provides free time and cash flow to do the things we love: traveling, reading, being physically active, and spending time with our friends and family in Knoxville, TN.
I enjoy working with others who share a similar drive and passion in their own careers and want to help them leverage that sense of purpose. Additionally, managing your health and human capital to prolong your working years and maximize your earning potential can allow you to save less and spend more on your current lifestyle. Summed up: work hard, play hard. If you love what you do and can’t imagine doing anything else, just like me, then you are a master in the art of living, and this style of financial planning is tailor-made for you.
